ATA National Accounting and Finance Council
What is the National Accounting & Finance Council and What Does It Do?
The National Accounting & Finance Council of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) is dedicated to supporting the interests of the trucking industry’s accounting, finance and information technology professionals. For over 65 years, NAFC has educated members, and has provided legislative and regulatory advocacy programs in the areas of finance, accounting, federal and state taxation and risk management.
NAFC members include taxation, finance, accounting and risk management executives, as well as managers of ATA motor carrier member companies. In addition to motor carrier employees, industry suppliers of taxation, finance, accounting, risk management, insurance, legal, and consulting products and services are also part of the NAFC membership.
What Benefits Do National Accounting & Finance Council Members Enjoy?

The NAFC study groups are working groups that develop ATA policy recommendations, discuss industry best practices, share information and monitor issues so that NAFC/ATA members are well represented in tax, finance, accounting, and risk management issues relevant to the trucking industry.

The NAFC staff is available to assist all members with technical questions or problems and to facilitate prompt and accurate resolution of tax, finance and risk management issues in the trucking industry.

NAFC products cover topics like driver per diem, profitable trucking, cost accounting and state taxes.

NAFC produces The Controller, a monthly newsletter that provides the latest information on finance, tax, and risk management & insurance issues relevant to the trucking industry.

The NAFC Annual & Exhibit Forum is a yearly event. The meeting provides a forum for suppliers to highlight their products, while at the same time giving motor carriers a one-stop-shop for speaking to vendors about their products and services.

In addition to the NAFC Annual Meeting & Exhibit Forum, the Council also holds other working meetings as necessary.
